Smartphones The smartphone is by far the most used digital app in the world. But we only use at most 10% of the phone. There are thousands of free apps for Android phone and Iphone which we can download free but most of us do not want to try. The phone becomes sluggish or even stop working if we don't take care of it. For WhatsApp: Not only do old videos take up a huge amount of space but these also clog up WhatsApp making the phone unresponsive. Once a week, tap each contact in WhatsApp and delete one by one to clear away old data. The contacts are not deleted and they are still in our phone. Keep a few videos that we like in a folder eg Photos. To save in Photos, tap and hold the video. Tap 3 dots at top right, tap Share, look for Photos and tap Upload. Now it's in Photos. It is troublesome at first but we can soon get used to it. For Google and Gmail: The browser which is Google (ie Chrome) needs to be cleared of old data so that we see new data every time. We do this by tapping the clockwise sign at top right in Chrome. And weekly in Chrome, tap the 3 dots at top right, tap History, tap Clear browsing data, tap Clear data and tap Clear. Finally tap X at top right to come back to Chrome. This also clears old data in Gmail if we use it with Chrome. We can also go to Settings on phone Desktop and tap Apps & Notifications. Look for Chrome, tap Storage and tap Clear Cache. Do the same for WhatsApp. The phone will work better after doing that. We should not send any message, image or video that is offensive or boring. Nor should we send messages that need to be verified for authenticity. If we don't know how or don't want to verify it, then do not send it to others. Return |
